Musician of the Week
While your child is the "Musician of the Week", each day will consist of an exciting event or activity to honor him or her. The "Musician of the Week" will continue until each student has had a turn.
Tuesday
Sharing: On the Friday the week before a student is "Musician of the Week", a bag will be sent home with the child and a note will be written in their planner. Students have the weekend to collect 3 special items with which to fill the bag at home and bring it back to share with classmates on Monday.
Students will also best sent home with a poster called "Packed Full of Stuff About Me" to decorate and bring back to class. This poster will be shared in order for us to learn more about the student. It will be posted on the "Musician of the Week" bulletin board.
Students should also bring 12 photos of their choice to display on the "Musician of the Week" bulletin board.

Wednesday
Favorite Book: The star student brings one of his or her books to read to the class. Students can read the book aloud to the class if it can be read in less than 10 minutes long or give a book-talk if the book is longer.
Thursday
Lunch Buddy: If possible, join your child in the cafeteria for a special lunch on this day. You may also choose to invite a sibling or a favorite relative to be your child’s lunch buddy. You can have the buddy be a surprise or let your child know ahead of time. If you are unable to make it during our lunch period (12:15-12:45), please let me know, and I will plan a special lunch for your child.
Friday
Musician Recognition: The musician student will be recognized by his or her classmates and presented with a "Musician of the Week" certificate.
*The events planned for Wednesday, Thursday , and Friday can be swapped in order to accommodate your personal schedules if you are planning to be a lunch buddy during the week.
